Helpful Tips

Here are some useful tips to help you achieve the best results with your handmade nail polish:

Upon delivery: For polish sitting in a mailbox or outside in extreme weather (hot or cold), bring your new polish inside and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours before opening.

Always use a high quality basecoat and topcoat and make sure your nails are clean, dry, and oil free before basecoat application.

FOR POLISH WITH GLITTER:

1. It’s normal for glitter to settle in the bottle. Before using – roll the bottle in the palms of your hands until the stainless steel balls are freed. Leave the bottle upside down for 10 minutes and then shake, shake, shake!!

2. Lighter brush strokes work best. Heavier brush strokes will cause the glitter to pile up towards the end of your nail. If you add a second coat, let the first coat completely dry before adding the second coat. The glitter will “slide” off with the second coat if the first coat isn’t dry enough. Same with the topcoat, make sure all layers are dry in between.

3. Polishes with heavier/larger glitter or glitter bombs could require:
A.) “Fishing” the individual glitter pieces out of the bottle with the brush.
B.) “Dabbing” or placement of the individual glitter pieces.
C.) Up to 3 coats of topcoat to get everything nice and smooth.
